Signs of Equality: How 21 Actions Reflect Attitudes Towards Women

Classy people are polite, respectful, and considerate of others. They are confident but not arrogant and always carry themselves with grace and poise. We look at 21 things you may be doing that make women think you are lower class.

You Are Inconsiderate of Others

Talking loudly in public places, cutting in line, or littering could indicate that you are inconsiderate to others. Men of a higher class have more consideration for others, even strangers.

You are Disrespectful to Others

Men who use profanity, make rude comments, or belittle others do not show signs of being classy. If you find yourself disrespecting others this way, you may struggle to impress women as they do not see you as worthy.

You Are Unaware of Social Norms

You may wear inappropriate clothing, talk about taboo subjects, or behave rudely in formal settings. While women like men to be individuals, sometimes men go too far and put women off with their lower-class behavior.

You Are Rude to Service Workers

You may snap at servers, yell at cashiers, or leave no tip. Some people think they are better than service workers and deserve to be treated better. This is a very entitled attitude. Service workers are just as deserving of respect as anyone else.

You are Materialistic

You may brag about your possessions, flaunt your wealth, or be obsessed with status symbols. Worldly people are often never satisfied with what they have. They are always looking for the next bigger and better thing. This shows that they need to appreciate the things that they already have.

You are Self-Centered

You may always talk about yourself, never listen to others, or refuse to help others in need. Self-centered people are not good at building relationships because they are only interested in themselves. They don’t take the time to get to know other people or to care about their needs.

You are Arrogant

You may think that you are better than others, look down on less fortunate people, or refuse to admit when you are wrong. Arrogant people often treat others with contempt and disdain. They may make rude comments or belittle others. This is very rude and disrespectful behavior.

You are Dishonest

You may lie, cheat, or steal, even for small things. When you lie to someone, you are breaking their trust. It can be challenging to rebuild trust once it has been broken.

You are Irresponsible

You may show up late, break promises, or fail to meet your obligations. People who know you are irresponsible will be less likely to trust or rely on you. This can make getting a job, making friends, or finding a romantic partner challenging.

You are Messy and Unkempt

You may have dirty clothes, unbrushed hair, or poor hygiene. Messy people may need to take the time to clean up after themselves, which can give the impression that they are lazy and don’t care about their appearance or environment.

You are Loud and Obnoxious

You may talk over people, make a lot of noise, or draw attention to yourself. You are not mindful of the people around you when you are loud. You may be disturbing their peace or making it difficult for them to concentrate.

You are Crude and Crass

You may make lewd jokes, tell dirty stories, or use vulgar language. Crude people often make fun of others or put them down. This can be very hurtful and damaging to relationships.

You are Tactless and Insensitive

You may say things without thinking, make hurtful comments, or fail to read the room. Classy people can understand and share the feelings of others. They are also able to put themselves in the shoes of others and see the world from their perspective. You are not showing empathy or compassion for others when you are insensitive. This can be seen as rude and inconsiderate.

You Are Rude to Your Elders

You may talk to your parents, grandparents, or other older people. Classy people will show respect to elders, listening to them and taking on advice where necessary.

You are Rude to Animals

You may kick a dog, chase a cat, or litter in their habitat. Classy people can understand and share the feelings of others, including animals. When you harm animals, you are not showing empathy or compassion. This can be seen as rude and inconsiderate.

You are Disrespectful to Other Cultures

You may make fun of people’s accents, customs, or beliefs. Making fun of another culture can be very insensitive if the culture differs from yours. You may not realize how offensive your comments are, but they can be exceedingly hurtful to people who identify with that culture.

You are Ungrateful

You may never say thank you, take things for granted, or complain about everything. When you are ungrateful, you can hurt the feelings of those who have done things for you. This can damage relationships and make building trust and rapport with others challenging.

You Are a Bully

You may pick on people who are smaller or weaker than you or use your power to intimidate others. Bullying can damage relationships, create a hostile environment at school or work, and lead to violence.

It is important to note that not everyone who exhibits one or two of these signs has no class. However, if you consistently behave in many ways, it may be time to take a closer look at your behavior and make some changes.
