Cease and Desist: Ridiculous Male Antics That Seriously Need a Timeout

Men think women are the only ones with behaviors that need to stop. However, we want to give some real talk and explain the male behaviors that drive us up the wall. Some habits and quirks could use some refinement; with this done, everyone will feel better.

Not All Ballgame

Some groups of men love a good game of sport and tend to go above and beyond to drag all their mates to the pub to watch a game. However, not all men are the same. Some men prefer a good book or would rather stay home with their partner than watch a game. It would be great if men respected the diverse interests of their friends and not try to drag everyone out to do something they might not enjoy.

The Great Illusion

A person’s worth isn’t all down to the amount of money they earn, and flaunting it if you’ve got it can give a bit of disapproval amongst friends and partners. There is no point in trying to gain respect or approval by explaining how much your next paycheck is. We would much rather have individuals who like to be rich in empathy, kindness, and respect than money. These are the actual vital points of life. Money and wealth aren’t everything.

The Debater’s Den

We all love a good bit of discussion sometimes. It is perfect for our minds, but if you’re constantly out looking for a debate or argument, it can become draining and upsetting for everyone involved. If you have an unnecessary view, this can cause sour relationships and hostile environments, which nobody wants to be a part of. Instead of this, it’s better to aim for more constructive conversations that give mutual respect and understanding.

Overzealous Protector

We all like to be protected to some extent, but when a guy goes overboard and becomes overprotective, it can turn us off. It’s no longer exciting, but it can give us an amount of concern regarding our partner’s behaviors. We need our own space to grow and figure things out without someone else jumping down our throats and telling us that we’re doing the wrong thing. It can make people feel suffocated if you become overprotective, and this is when you need the proper strength to take a step back and leave us to it.

Self-Care Game

We’re not going to think you’re being too overly feminine if you take part in some self-care. It isn’t just for women, after all. Self-care can look quite attractive to us, and if you take care of your physical appearance and mental well-being, self-confidence will be boosted. Self-care makes us feel good, whether you’re a man or a woman.

Honoring Personal Space

It’s fundamental to respect personal space in all interactions you have with people. If you talk to people who don’t want to be spoken to or touched, this can make others feel uncomfortable. It might be a friendly gesture to you, but it could be uncalled for to them. Be mindful of boundaries and space.

Show Off or Show Up

When a man flexes their muscles or acts tough in front of their friends or women, it can be a real turn-off. Nobody likes a show-off, and we believe that the true strength of someone comes from their personality and character. It also comes with the person’s kindness and ability to treat people nicely. Being macho does not do anyone any favors and needs to stop.

The Stone Wall

It isn’t the most appealing behavior if you walk around as if you’re always on a battlefield. You don’t need to look as if you’re ready for a fight constantly; looking intimidating can put many people off you. It creates an unnecessary barrier. The better qualities like humility, empathy, and kindness bring people together, so remove the wall and let yourself loose.

Appreciating Differences

We’re all different and unique; this is the same for women. We all have other qualities, likes, dislikes, personalities, and quirks. It’s better for men to stop generalizing everyone and appreciate our differences. You will never come across the same two people, and we think the variety in life makes it a little bit more exciting.

Seeking Guidance

Men have problems letting down their pride and asking for help or directions. We don’t all know everything. Some things need to be asked about. You’ll never learn without asking, and it’s when you’re struggling to seek guidance. It doesn’t make you weak or stupid; it is a good thing as it shows a willingness to grow and learn.

Patience to Listen

We don’t all need an answer for everything. Sometimes, it’s just as important to sit back and listen to what someone has to say rather than offer advice all the time. Obviously, we all have our insights and opinions to share, and that’s okay, but it’s best to wait for your turn to speak. It is no good to cut people off mid-sentence, as this will make them think that they are unimportant when we’re all the same. Cultivate patience and listen more.

Clean Mitts

One essential thing that men struggle with is keeping their hands clean. We understand that the extra 30 seconds after you’ve done something or been to the toilet is a daunting experience (not really), but it takes minimal effort to ensure that your hands are clean. It’s all about maintaining personal hygiene and taking care of yourself. Washing your hands is also a defense against germs, which, in current times, is needed more.

Solo Soldier

Whether to be single or in a relationship is a man’s choice. Whatever they choose to do, they should be given a bit of respect. If you shame someone for their relationship status, it says more about you than it does them, and it’s an unnecessary act of unkindness. Support one another in their life choices, and don’t make them feel shame.

Humble Braggart

We all deserve to be proud of our accomplishments. Whether they are big or small. However, bragging about them daily is a considerable off-put; we don’t want to be around it. It can cause people to sway away from you. It’s always great to be supportive of someone who has achieved something, but when they constantly brag, it is no wonder that this person ends up with nobody.

Art of Dining

One of the biggest turn-offs in life is hearing someone eat with their mouth open. We don’t need to know the ins and outs of our eating habits. We don’t want to see what you’re chewing. We would rather eat our foods, and you eat yours without all the gory details. It’s better to be mindful of your eating habits to avoid putting anyone off their meal. Good manners will never go out of style.

Aiming High and Dry

We’ve all been to at least one restroom when it looks like a disaster, without mentioning the smell that comes with these disasters. So, we’re begging that you learn to aim higher and better so the urinal can be drier. It can go a long way, even if it’s something small.

Defining Masculinity

Masculinity isn’t all about how loud you can burp, how much you weigh, or how much you can bench press. Not everyone is the same, and not every man’s body shape will be the same. Discussing these fitness trends with others is a disaster when it comes to obsessive behaviors. Stick to what you know, don’t bother communicating what you’re doing to anyone else, and just be proud of your body changes instead of making it such a competition.

Volume Control

You don’t need to speak louder to get your points across. Keeping to the same volume level when you’re in a discussion, whether it’s heated or not, will give a bit more harmony to the conversation. If you’re spending time interrupting and causing a scene, then this causes more aggravation than anything else.
