19 Items Primarily Targeted at Those With Simple Minds

In our world, separating fact from fiction can sometimes be challenging, including products that send us a promise. A promise that our skincare, health, and overall healthy being will dramatically change if we use them. We are all obsessed with becoming better, healthier, and fitter with just a product. However, life isn’t that simple, and unfortunately, many of these products follow a marketing facade.

Unfiltered Water Bottles

The thought of unfiltered and untreated water being healthier makes us think it’s a quick fix and easy upgrade. However, there is a risk when it comes to unfiltered water, including the pollutants and pathogens usually present within untreated water sources. Although, when we see a new product that is well packaged and presented, we often follow the idea of it being healthier. The best thing to do is research. Make sure you have all of the information needed, good and bad. If you need to, consult some experts and make informed decisions.

Power Balance Bands

You might stumble across the power balance bands if you’re looking for performance enhancers. This sports accessory has a unique hologram designed to improve strength and balance. Unfortunately for some, there have been independent studies that cannot verify these claims. However, the benefits found are all placebo rather than legit.

Himalayan Salt Lamps

These lamps are aesthetically pleasing, calming, and warm. However, the claims of them being able to purify the air and increase energy levels are unsupported by scientific research. So if you purchase a Himalayan salt lamp, it’s better to do it for its look rather than any potential health benefits.

Detox Teas

We’ve all heard of detox teas that have all different health benefits. Most of them are known for being able to ‘cleanse’ our bodies and aid in weight loss. However, the weight loss that could be applied because of these detox teas doesn’t usually last long because it is mostly water and stool weight. There are known complications with detox teas, though, and that is the potential for health issues because their long-term use can disrupt your body’s natural electrolyte balance.

Magnetic Therapy Jewelry

You may or may not have heard about the jewelry that offers potential relief from pain through magnetic fields. However, they often don’t live up to their promising claims. Some people have reported simple improvements, but there is no research to support any significant benefits.

Magic Pills

When it comes to anything pill related, it’s always best to be cautious. You don’t know what is put into them, and they could do much more damage to your body than good. Some pills out there claim to aid in weight loss, and even though this might be the case temporarily, it’s always better if you exercise regularly and have a well-balanced diet.

Kinoki Foot Pads

Some of us are on our feet all day, every day, and they ache. We can also fall victim to dry and cracked skin. So when there’s a mention of a product that could help with this, we’re drawn in. The Kinoki foot pads claim to draw out toxins through your feet. However, despite their claims, there is no scientific evidence to back them up. Our body is clever, removing toxins through organs like the kidneys and liver.

Anti-Aging Creams

When we hit a certain age, we constantly worry that we will get wrinkles and look older. None of us want to look our age; we all want to look younger. So when we see anti-aging creams in the store, we have to pick them up to try them. However, we understand that they might nourish our skin like many moisturizing creams, but they don’t reverse any aging process. The best way to look after your skin is by getting enough sleep, using sun protection, following a healthy diet, and exercising regularly.

Cellulite Removal Creams

Cellulite is all part of life; we all get it – men and women. However, that doesn’t mean that we enjoy having it or that we want it at all. Some products out there claim they can get rid of cellulite altogether. The only reason why these creams aren’t as effective as the state is because cellulite is fat deposits under the skin. Creams can only offer surface-level results, but if you want to eliminate cellulite, you’re better off adjusting your diet and regularly exercising.

Overnight Hair Growth Products

If there is one thing you shouldn’t believe, that’s the overnight hair growth products. They don’t do what they state on the package. There are various factors regarding hair health and growth, and products usually aren’t one of them. Things like overall health, genetics, and diet make a difference to your hair. Be consistent with your hair care, and you’ll see changes.

Expensive HDMI Cables

All HDMI cables work similarly; there is nothing like a superior cable. However, some marketers often promote them as this. You won’t notice any difference between a regular HDMI cable and one that claims to have an otherworldly performance. It’s best to consider the cable’s compatibility and durability with your devices rather than what the marketers say.

Gas-Saving Devices

The most effective way to improve your gas mileage is by efficiently driving and ensuring you take your car into the garage for regular maintenance. However, some devices promise to improve the efficiency of your car fuel. Although, despite these claims, research has proven otherwise.

Pheromone Perfumes

Some people think that if they spray themselves with a mass amount of perfume, the opposite gender will fall head over heels in love with them. However, as we know, mutual attraction comes from more than smell. You don’t need to spray so much; marketers are very clever in making you think you do.

Internet Speed-Boosting Gadgets

You won’t notice much difference when using these speed-boosting gadgets because they are only limited to what your internet service provider gives you. Before you spend money on these gadgets, you might want to research the specifics of your home network setup first.

Posture Corrector Devices

Most of the time, our posture is affected by weak postural muscles, so when you see a device that promises perfect posture, don’t fall into the trap. The best way to improve your posture is by consistently involving yourself in strength-building exercises and movement breaks.

Get Rich Quick Schemes

You’ve probably seen the books that promise the get-rich-quick method. This is when you shouldn’t believe everything you read or see. You can sometimes get online courses, but any of these schemes benefit the people who promote them rather than those who fall into the trap. It would help if you put more time, effort, and planning into your life to earn more money.

Charcoal Toothpaste

This is becoming more popular at the moment, especially the whitening strips. You will find them all over social media. Despite their claims of making your teeth whiter, charcoal toothpaste is abrasive and can lead to erosion of your enamel. It’s best to consult your dentist before experimenting with any toothpaste.

Infomercial Fitness Products

If you’re looking at losing weight or toning yourself, you’re better off getting to the gym and speaking to a personal trainer. This way, you will be able to work hard for the body you want instead of being grabbed into thinking you can get the ‘perfect’ body for minimal effort. A good fitness level includes balanced nutrition and cardiovascular and strength training exercises.

Homeopathic Teething Products

Even though they are marketed to help babies going through the painful experience of teething, they can pose serious health risks. It is always best to consult your GP or pediatrician before choosing any product. This way, you will know the best, safest, and most effective ways to soothe your baby’s discomfort.
