We’re all aware that every woman is different. Some women will like some things men do, and other women will despise these same traits. It’s all about personal preference. However, there are certain things that a lot of women fall into the same category with in regards to wishing men would lose certain traits forever because they agree that these traits are unattractive.
Violence
Violence shouldn’t be accepted in any circumstance, but unfortunately, it does happen, and it happens too often. Women don’t want anyone to be violent towards them, which can be present physically, verbally, and emotionally. Often, women are the ones who are a target for violence, and it usually comes from men they know. Women can also experience violence from men in the way of control or suppression, preventing them from being total participants in society.
Arrogance
Women aren’t the biggest fans of arrogant men. It mainly comes across as if the man is trying his best to compensate for something else, and it can make a woman feel as if the man isn’t comfortable with his abilities or himself as a person. If men are arrogant, they tend to think of themselves as superior to everyone else, which can ultimately be off-putting for women.
Self-Centeredness
If you come across a self-centered man, you might realize that they are also disrespectful and dismissive towards their partner, which means that their partner’s needs and wants go unnoticed or uncared for. Women will find this hurtful and will cause quite a bit of damage to their self-esteem and confidence. Most men who come across as self-centered might be emotionally unavailable, which is a problem for women looking for someone to give them their all. Partners of self-centered men will be unable to connect on a deeper level.
Cockiness
Nobody likes a cocky person, especially if you’re looking to be in a relationship with someone who is cocky. It isn’t a good look and can be a complete turn-off for many women. If a man is cocky, it is thought they are compensating for something else. Having a cocky potential partner can make a woman feel like they aren’t confident in themselves and can cause an issue with their self-esteem.
Possessiveness
If you have a possessive partner, then it shows a sign of insecurity within themselves and their ability to make their partner feel happy. When a woman feels like a man is too possessive, it can make her feel as if she isn’t good enough or isn’t trusted. Most of the time, possessiveness can show in control and the man’s need to control what their partner is doing, where they’re going, and the behavior they present.
Disrespect
Nobody wants to be disrespected, and what is shown in a relationship can be a big turn-off for a woman. A man who shows no respect for his partner is a way of breaking trust and causing a violation of boundaries; doing so will cause a woman to feel uncomfortable and unsafe. If a man disrespects his woman, then it is showing and telling her that she isn’t worthy of respect, which can damage and hurt a woman’s self-esteem.
Obsessiveness
If a man is obsessive, it might be a sign of insecurity, which many women don’t like. Being obsessive is a sign that he isn’t confident and, ultimately, in his relationship. Obsessiveness in a relationship can make a woman feel like she is untrusted and not good enough, and obsession can lead to control of their partner’s behavior.
Dishonesty
Honesty is massive in a relationship, and if a man becomes dishonest, it can cause many problems. Trust is broken; without trust, there isn’t much point in a relationship because you’ll be questioning everything. Honesty is vital in a relationship because it allows the woman to feel secure and safe; if this is broken, it can be demeaning and hurtful.
Negativity
If you’re presented with a man who is constantly negative, then it can be off-putting and draining. Being surrounded by positivity can do wonders for your mental health; the same applies to negativity. A woman will end up feeling as if she’s always walking on eggshells around a negative man, and it’s almost as if they can never do anything right. However, negativity is a sign of insecurity, and if this isn’t fixed as soon as possible, it can bring everyone down.
Emotional Unavailability
One of the most prominent put-offs in a relationship to a woman is if the man is emotionally unavailable. This means that there isn’t much room for the man to have a deep connection and a high intimacy level, leaving the woman to feel insecure and as if they aren’t worth the deep connection.
Narcissism
Narcissism is a dangerous place to be, whether you’re the person who has it or you’re the person who is in a relationship with someone who is suffering from it. It is a demanding and self-centered personality trait that women cannot handle, and for good reason. It could leave women feeling unneeded, unwanted, and unloved because men usually want women to prioritize their needs more than anything else. Narcissism also leads to a very controlling and manipulative lifestyle, which means that behaviors can turn quickly.
Ignorance
If a man is ignorant, then it means he cannot respect and value a woman enough to learn about their positive qualities and what they enjoy doing. Having an ignorant partner means a woman might feel as if she has to educate and explain things repeatedly and remain unheard constantly. This is off-putting and frustrating.
Laziness
Nothing is worse than getting into a relationship or seeing a partner and feeling as if you’re their mother because they’re too lazy to do anything for themselves. Suppose you have a lazy partner. In that case, it shows a level of disrespect, and it shows a woman that they are unwilling to try to maintain the relationship, meaning that the relationship isn’t that important to them. A lazy man can cause a woman to be emotionally and physically drained.
Immaturity
There is a level of maturity that’s needed for a relationship. Otherwise, it can become unappealing. If a man is too immature, a woman will become frustrated and ultimately be utterly off-put by them. Women might find themselves having to teach their partners how to act like adults, which means that any vital conversations that are needed sometimes in relationships will be missed. A lack of communication is a problem in itself.
Jealousy
We all get jealous occasionally, but there is a limit to which it can move into an obsession. Jealousy is a sign of insecurity, and we all have it, but if a man shows a woman his jealous side, it means he isn’t confident in himself or his relationship. A woman will then, in turn, feel like he doesn’t trust her or she isn’t good enough. If a man is jealous enough, he might end up controlling everything his partner does and making her feel bad if she spends time with anyone other than him.
