According to the Pew Research Center, generations are classed as groups of people born within the same 15-to-20-year span. It can become unclear which generation is defined as what, and you might want to know which generation you belong to. So, which years are Gen X and other generations?

The Atlantic says that the current generation is called Generation Alpha, which is anyone born between the years of 2012 and 2024. Generation Alpha is completely tech-savvy, and AI is more of their reality than a dream-like other generations. They have a highly personalized learning technique, and most Gen Alphas spend most of their time interacting on social media.

Gen Z is anyone born between the years 1997 and 2012. Gen Zers are more ethnically diverse and radical compared to other generations. They usually have no memory of life before smartphones and are a truly digital generation.

Millennials, also known as Generation Y, were born between 1981 and 1996. Millennials were the first to be introduced to the internet and social media. Anyone born in the millennial era is known as creative, progressive, and far more far-thinking than other generations.

According to Beresford Research, Generation X is anyone born between 1965 and 1980. Generation X is followed by baby boomers and Gen Xers are best described as “independent, resourceful and keen on maintaining work-life balance.”

You’d be classed as a baby boomer if you were born between 1946 and 1964. This is the generation when the World War II birth rate higher. Baby boomers tend to value their relationships more than other generations, and they grew up in a belief that spending time with friends and family is paramount. Boomers are goal-centric and were raised with the idea of the American dream, so they are more likely to push themselves to their goals.
